Tradition. Craft. Community.
Ramen Takumi was founded with a simple yet ambitious goal: to bring the authentic, soulful taste of Japan’s ramen culture to the bustling streets of New York City. Located at 1 University Place, steps away from Washington Square Park, we have become a haven for students, locals, and ramen enthusiasts alike.
In a city that never sleeps, we provide a warm bowl of comfort that feels like home. Our name, "Takumi" (匠), means "artisan" or "craftsman," and it defines everything we do.
Great ramen cannot be rushed. Our signature Tonkotsu (Pork Bone) broth is a labor of love, simmered for over 24 hours to extract the rich collagen and deep umami flavors that characterize our soup.
But the broth is only half the story. We believe noodles are the soul of the bowl. That is why we use only premium wheat flour imported directly from Hokkaido, Japan. Aged for perfect texture, our noodles have that distinct bite and chewiness that perfectly complements our rich soups.
We believe time is an ingredient. Our broths are slow-cooked to perfection.
From Hokkaido flour to locally sourced vegetables, quality comes first.
Japanese hospitality. We treat every guest like family.
